Where are you located?
We are at 7 Edgefield Ave in Upney, Barking IG11 9JP, a short walk from Upney Station on the District Line. Easy to reach from Barking, Dagenham, Ilford and East Ham. You will smell the kitchen before you see the sign.
Do you deliver?
Yes, to addresses within a mile of the shop. Call us on 020 8054 4625 with your order and your address and we will tell you straight away if you are in range. Further out, call ahead and collect.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Thursday, 11am to 11pm. Friday and Saturday, 11am to midnight. Sunday, 12pm to 10:30pm. Seven days a week, whether that is a Tuesday lunch in Barking or a late one from Ilford.
Can I collect my order?
Yes. Call us on 020 8054 4625, tell us what you want and come in when it is ready. It is cooked when you order, so nothing is sitting around waiting for you.
Can I order ahead?
Yes. Call us on 020 8054 4625 before you set off and it will be ready when you get here.
How hot is the food?
It depends on the sauce, and the menu shows it with chillies. Nashville is two, Birdy's hot ranch is three, and hot honey and Birdy Mango Naga are four. Plain wings and The OG Birdy have no heat at all.
Can I make it a meal?
Yes. Any burger, chicken or beef, becomes a meal with fries and a drink for £3 more. Just ask when you order.
Is everything on the menu halal?
Every item. Burgers, chicken, wings, sides and sauces, all certified halal and sourced from trusted UK suppliers. There are no exceptions and nothing on the menu sits outside that.
Do you do catering or large group orders?
Yes. If you are feeding a family gathering, a community event or a big group anywhere around Upney, Barking or Dagenham, give us a ring on 020 8054 4625 and we will sort it.
Do you have vegetarian or vegan options?
Not yet. The menu is built around halal meat at the moment and we are working on plant based options. Follow @birdyandburger and we will announce them properly.
How fresh is the food really?
Everything is cooked when the order comes in. The patty is smashed then, the chicken goes in the fryer then, the fries are dropped then. Nothing is pre-cooked and nothing sits under a lamp. That is why it tastes the way it does.
Is there parking near you?
Yes. There is street parking on Edgefield Ave and the roads around it. We are also a few minutes from Upney Station on the District Line and on several bus routes from Barking and Dagenham.
